There were rumors related to many financial transactions going badly between cruisers and Amy Donoho which left many people feeling uneasy. I’m in contact with many of those people about whether they’d be willing to share their stories and whatever evidence they have to support their story. As I mentioned in the first post I’m going to do my best to avoid speculation and conjecture, so I hope to only publish information that can be proven. Because of the rumors we felt it was very unlikely that we’d ever see a refund for the Nassau excursion.

Once off the ship I waited a bit before bugging her about the refund, but we knew she had another cruise planed before Christmas and I felt the refunds should’ve been done before she sailed again. Every time I or anyone questioned about the refund the posts were either deleted or she made some excuse saying that she was still working on or waiting on a refund from the tour company. Finally I’d had enough. On December 26th I made a call to Nassau Go Native. Since Amy will not respond to my messages about it, we must assume that they were supposed to be the tour guide for the Nassau group excursion. Amy sold it to us as the same one that her and Elizabeth had done in a previous Sea Cruisers video so I feel that it is a safe assumption. The video is titled “Amazing Race! Our FUN & Exciting Day in Nassau! Carnival Cruise Ship Vlog [ep8]”.

Based on my conversation with Jo at Nassau Go Native, Amy never finalized the plans for the excursion, and she never paid any money toward the excursion. Unfortunately I do not know how many people signed up for the excursion because as soon as she announced that it had been canceled she deleted the signup sheet from the files section of the facebook group. I know from the emails that there should have been a maximum of 24 in the group. $61/person times 21 people (24 minus her, Trevon, and Mahnara) that’s $1,281 that she took and never paid out. Where did that money go? Why is it now over a month since she canceled the excursion and people are still asking for their refunds? Why do facebook posts about refunds keep getting deleted?

I speculate (I told you I’d warn you) that Amy got into financial trouble and needed to use the money for a personal debt. I have no idea what actually happened because Amy won’t come clean about it. Posts keep being deleted, messages keep going un answered, and excuses keep being given. Another strange aspect of this whole ordeal is that when Amy announced that the excursion had been canceled she did so via individual private messages to those who had signed up instead of making a single post or group message about it. Why do this unless you’re trying to shield yourself from ridicule or judgement?
